Corrib Oil is the first retailer in the west of Ireland to install a Harp renewable Bio-Digester.

Our first installation took place in our Castlerea service station earlier this year. The Harp Bio Digester, utilises our proprietary biotechnology that converts food and other organic waste into a highly valued, dry, safe and nutrient rich soil product/biofertilizer Using a combination of biological and mechanical processes, organic waste volumes are reduced by 75 and weight reductions on average of 70 in less than twenty-four hours.

Announcing the partnership, Eugene Dalton, Chief Executive, Corrib Oil said:

"This new partnership with Zeus Group represents the next phase of Corrib s sustainability efforts. Food is a pivotal part of our business and we are acutely aware of our responsibilities to continually reduce our environmental footprint in the communities we are located in. Investing in technology-based solutions like this one with Zeus is an important step. The success of this pilot programme in Castlerea, which is a high-footfall site, paves the way for potential expansion to other locations across our network of locations. ”

By incorporating Harp’s Bio Digester solution Corrib Oil has not only mitigated any transport emissions associated with the diesel powered heavy good refuse vehicles but also eliminates food waste directed to landfill, where it releases extremely harmful greenhouse gases while producing a highly valuable soil regenerative product that both sequesters more carbon than any other natural soil additive and displaces the demand for imported chemical fertilisers.

Eliminate Food Waste Directed to Landfill

By process and recycling your food waste on site, you both ensure no food waste is sent to landfill where it can produce harmful greenhouse gases but also reduce your company reported waste in your end of year environmental report.

Offset your company's carbon footprint

Using an ISO 14040 Life Cycle Methodology to audit the entire system, our Harp Bio Digesters are, on average, carbon negative, meaning that they sequester more carbon into the Soil Product that they emit, directly or indirectly.

Lowest Carbon Footprint of any Aerobic treatment

This groundbreaking thermally accelerated aerobic digesters significantly reduces any CO 2 and greenhouse gases by up to 67 compared to any other aerobic digestion process.

Contribute to a Circular Economy with an accredited Biofertilizer

Harp’s Biotechnology both sequester ore carbon and restrain more nutrients, that means less elemental volatilisation and more valuable End Product. By retaining higher NPK values, Harp’s End Product displaced a higher percentage of any landscaping fertilizer needs.
