Last week saw three Connacht Rugby squad members visit Corrib Oil Loughrea to launch new Connacht-themed sandwiches. The sandwiches were developed by Corrib Oil's deli chefs in conjunction with the Connacht Rugby team's nutritionist to be as energy-packed and nutritious as they are tasty.
The team also enjoyed coffees from our fabulous full service barista. Our barista manager Liz can whip up a superb range of coffees, iced coffees and hot chocolates that can be enjoyed in our seating area - ideal for a catch-up on the go.
Students from St Raphael's College met the Connacht players
We were joined by the junior boys' rugby squad from St Raphael's College for a meet-and-greet with the players. The students asked a wide variety of questions, from what music the team listens to before a match to get pumped up, how much they bench, what advice they had for young players, and who their favourite opponents are.
The students received goodie bags with Corrib Oil and Connacht Rugby merchandise - as well as samples of the new sandwiches and other snacks. The Connacht players then spent time taking selfies with the young players.
Galway Bay FM also joined us for an outside broadcast from the forecourt for their lunchtime show. Host Ronan Lardner provided an extra burst of energy and craic. Lardner taste tested the sandwiches and the barista offering, giving both a big thumbs up. Lucky listeners on the day won Corrib Oil gift cards and tickets to Connacht Rugby matches.
You can see more photos from the Connacht Rugby squad members visit Corrib Oil Loughrea on our Facebook and Instagram pages. We regularly give away tickets to Connacht's home games at the Sportsground. Follow us for great competitions, discounts and prizes.
Massive thanks to the players from Connacht Rugby, Galway Bay FM, and the students from St Raphael's. Thanks also to our team in Loughrea for being great hosts on the day.
